It is still a very lightweight hot tent, with a minimum weight of 2.9kg and if all the included accessories are taken, like center pole, stakes and guy ropes it still is 4,2kg total weight. The weight of the tipi will not be exhausting, the Lavvo 6 weighs a minimum of only 2900g without the ground wedges and the center pole. The Lavvo 6 has an interior height of 216cm and a bottom diameter of 426cm. The shape and design of the tent is smart, the walls are in minimum angle compared to traditional tipi tents - this means more aerodynamics and the wind effect is minimized as much as this style of accommodation can do. The Lavvo 6 has 10 guy ropes around the flysheet and 20 ground pegs, so total 30 points to nail this thing on the ground if the conditions require it!

The NorTent Lavvo 6 offers superb interior space for 2-3 person when using an optional wood stove with chimney - there is also the smaller Lavvo 4 available, that is a different product you might want to look as well - Lavvo 6 is made of silnylon, one of the most durable and lightest fabric materials available today. Silnylon is strong and well-functioning flysheet -material, however, it has its own personality, if you could say so, it's good to be aware how the Silnylon works in different temperatures, let's talk about that at the very end of this product description.

Super lightweight Silnylon material is relatively expensive to produce, but in return you get lightweight accommodation that can withstand both cold and wet and almost anything the mother nature could throw at it. The usual top opening seen in most tipi tents has been completely let off from the design. NorTent thought that it is something which is seldom utilized and it takes too much time to get it just right. When you have traveled long distances, tired, and so on, you want a quick set up. Small campfire or hobo stove inside the the tent is often a smoky experience and it will take time before the burning of such open fire will become less smokey. Also corbon monoxide is something to consider when burning wood inside a tent. Not necessarily what you want. For this reason, NorTent did not build any openings in the upstairs of their Lavvo models, but instead you get a ready-made inlet/outlet for the wood stove chimney, which is definitely a better option.

In addition for having a nice sturdy stove inside your teepee, you also get a place to boil your water and prepare your food - on top of the stove. The NorTent tipi / hot tent is slightly lower in height than the traditional tiipii designs. This is done not only for superior comfort, but also for aerodynamics in high wind situations. The height of 216cm from the bottom to the ceiling and the 426cm diameter will not grab wind so easily, but rather guide the blowing gusts around the tent. Thus, this model is also more suitable for windy and open spaces than traditional, similar type of shelter. Nortent Tiipi has 20 ground anchor points that can be used to nail the tent fabric to the ground very securely and comes equipped with 10 guy ropes around the design to further secure the tent. In many cases you don't even need to use the guy ropes, because the ground stakes will usually make it, but you know you can add more stability if needed. 10pcs Guy ropes and easy to use rope tensioners around the tent.

NorTent has designed its Lavvo model to provide you with the perfect and safe place to stay in any condition, summer and winter - with the possibility to nail the shelter in as tight as the situation requires. If this is for some reason not enough, you can add snow or rocks over the sod skirt and further strengthen the accommodation. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that NorTent Lavvo does not like snow packing on top of the Silnylon fabric, so don't let the snow accumulate on your teepee for too long time - excess weight can damage the silnylon fabric.

Wood Stove: If you take a wood stove with you, we could say that this is one of the most versatile option for 2-3 people and all the gear with very luxorious space inside. Leave the wood stove out and it will accommodate 6 people with their gear. The tent also works perfectly without a stove. 6 person without stove max, 4 person with all gear very comfortably (without stove) and with stove 2-3 person very comfortably.

The NorTent Lavvo 6 has two air vents close to the ground level and large airvent on the back of the tipi placed as high as possible on the tent. This ensures a good ventilation to avoid condensation. In addition, doors on both sides with mosquito nets can be opened. The combination of all of these provides a versatile air-conditioning to your tent, thus preventing condensation on the inside of the tent. It is know fact that single-walled shelters have a tendency to produce condensation under the right conditions, nothing serious, but if you want to prevent this, keep a spark in the fireplace, use a candle of some sort, or get a separately purchased NorTent inner tent.

A little more about the silnylon material: The Lavvo 4 tent fabric is made entirely of durable and very lightweight silnylon material, with silicone impregnated nylon on both sides of the fabric. Extremely lightweight and durable fabric material, especially for ultra-light solutions. A bit like a spider web, thin and durable in a certain way. One thing that may not be widely recognized is that silnylon lives in response to temperature fluctuations. When you set up a silnylon tent during the day in a warm place and you tighten it tight, it is is nice and the accommodation looks gorgeous. Now see when the night falls and maybe raining a little bit, the tent will start to sag and does not look like what you set up before. Of course, at this point, you want to start tightening it again, adjusting the center pole and so on. All is well again! But wait, here comes the pitfall.

When the sun rises again in the morning and temperatures rise? Yes, the fabric tightens to its original position when it was first put up the day before. Now comes the important part: if you do not release the tension from the ground and center pole that you did during the cold evening, that is, return the tent to it's original tension where it was when you first erected it, the fabric will be subject to extreme strain in all directions. Then, when the evening comes again, temperatures drop and the fabric stretches again and looks bad. It is tempting to run again and tighten things over again. There is a problem here - the tent is now at its weakest. The fabric is torn by internal forces and has been stretched again. Problems will occur in the long run if keep doing like this. It is very important that the silnylon fabrics is to be released from the stretch during the day, at least to the point where you tightened it again in the evening when the fabric became slightly loose. With this instruction you will do well with the silnylon material. Tighten in the evening and loosen in the morning. Thats it.
