Product info
For nearly 60 years, Muela from Spain is one of the leading European manufacturers of classic hunting knives. The family-owned business which was founded by Eladio Muela in 1952, is today jointly managed by all of his 5 children. Since the beginnings in the first small workshop, Muela has turned into a high-tech manufacturer with an annual production of approximately 350.000 knives. But despite the modern computer-assisted production, handwork is still a top priority at Muela today.Especially the complex processing of staghorn, one of Muela's specialties cannot be carried out automatically. It requires the long-term experience of experts who prepare and assemble knife handles and scales manually. The company also put great emphasis on the use of high-quality domestic and exotic wood as handle materials. All individual operations of the manufacturing process are carried out by Muela, even the production of the high-grade leather sheaths.
Due to this holistic approach which has never lost sight of its core area and that has never hastily, the company has consistently maintained the philosophy of tradition and continuity in knife production. The result is a product that hunters and outdoor lovers can rely on in blind trust. Unless otherwise stated, the satin finished blade is made of Spanish MOVA, a molybdenum vanadium steel with a Rockwell hardness of 57-61 HRC. Unless otherwise stated, all fixed knives are delivered with leather sheath.
