Finnish smoking pellets are made from peeled gray alder at Sulkava. The pellet does not contain any additives, apart from the alder it contains only a little water. From experiments we can tell, that about 37 pellets smokes 1 kg of fish. If you don't want the hassle with smoke chips, take pellets, they are easy.
