Product info

In 1991, a glacier mummy was discovered in South Tyrol. Received as a sensation, the mummy was lovingly named Ötzi and proved to be a treasure trove for archaeologists and early history researchers. At the time of his demise, the Neolithic hunter had a knife in his kit, consisting of a flint blade and a wooden handle.

Inspired by this knife, designer Joe Fowlers created the Condor Ötzi Knife with a contoured, rough-forged 1095 carbon steel blade and a wooden handle twice wrapped with brass wire. A knife like a hand axe - not big, but robust and reduced to essentials, hailing from a time when a knife was still an essential tool for day-to-day survival. A handmade leather sheath is the perfect accompaniment for this archaic and unique cutting tool.
