If you are that sort of breed that uses a hammock and tarp in the woods, you have certainly noticed the ease and comfort of hammock, and don't certainly want to go back to tent accommodation. In the northern latitudes, hammock use is often disturbed by excessive cold. What if, there was an extremely well insulated and small tool that makes sleeping in hammock possible in every weather?

The Polish Bushmen, have made this tool, it's called Bushmen Underquilt Glow -12! Underquilt is an independent thermal insulation, usually made of fabric. When the temperature is on the plus side, a slightly less insulated underquilt will do the trick, but when the thermometer plunges well into the freeze, you really need something stronger. The Bushmen Underquilt Glow comfort temperature is -12°C , with the extreme Limit even lower, around -20°C.

What makes Bushmen Glow so great and insulating? The secret lies in the structure and filling. Filling is Polish goose down, widely recognized as the best thermal insulation. For its unique properties, down feather is still the lightest and most insulating filling. The Underquilt Glow -12 is filled with 550 grams of pure down. Mention worthy thing is that Bushmen down is 100% recycled.

In order to get all out from down insulating properties, the underquilt structure must be correct, and Bushmen has nailed this too. The H shape of the chambers prevents the formation of 'cold spots', which are usually located at the stitches, this greatly increases the magnificence of the Glow. The wider part that protects upper body is made of cushion like chambers, the chambers prevent down from moving to the other end, keeping the upper body warm. The narower end of the Glow is made to protect lower body, and here the chambers are made longitudinally, this ensures optimal use of the down and keeping the legs warm.

When the underquilt is used underneath the hammock, the down will move from the narrower end to warm your legs. Underquilt Glow is also suitable for use as a blanket or sleeping bag, in this use the downs are evenly distributed throughout the quilt. Underquilt is green on one side and orange on the other. Both sides are made of ultra lightweight rip-stop nylon (22g / m2) and feature DWR (Durable Water Repellency) coating. With six attachment points you can easily attach the underquilt. Each attachment point has its own tensioner and you can adjust the underquilt even while lying on the hammock. Weighing in at just 800 grams and packing size a minimalist 4.5 liters, this is magnificence!
